To provide an avenue for the extension of musical studies and lifetime
enrichment for instrumentalists of all ages and expertise.
To promote traditional concert band repertoire through rehearsals
To supply musical accompaniment to special events for the benefit
of both the musicians and the audience.
The Jackson Hole Community band is a 30-piece ensemble
founded in 1989. We rehearse nearly year-round to provide free entertainment
- from old favorites by Duke Ellington, to toe tapping marches by
Sousa, to classics by Mussorgsky - at many community events, public
concerts, and parades.
We are an all volunteer band and do not hold auditions. Our members
hail from backgrounds as diverse as engineering, law, real estate,
and the clergy and range in age from early-teens to the eighties.
Abilities range from Middle School students needing a more challenging
repertoire, community members returning to their musical roots,
music majors, and semi professionals. Many members have had a 15-
to 20- year break before joining. It's never too late to join!
